Here we are! I offer a small bowl of homemade squash soup with this… Another Turn of the Wheel.
Samhain, pronounced “SahWn” is sometimes called Hallowe’en or All Hallows Eve. It is one of the major celebrations in Earth based spirituality, the old religion, and in Celtic spiritual traditions.
Many feel the energetic shift at Samhain when the veil between the physical world and the spiritual world is thinnest, and when those who have transitioned from physical form are more accessible. For many mediums this accessibility is perpetual, not just at Samhain. I invite you to use this special time to honour your ancestors, and the gifts they gave us through their living and/or through their dying.
In my practice, Samhain (Hallowe’en) is an opportunity to heal another layer of grief. I use the spiral as a tool, so each time you meet grief on your journey, your healing is deeper and deeper. In my own personal practice, I have a beautiful wooden box full of carefully chosen stones. In my personal practice, I take down a special carved box from my altar which is full of rocks representing an individual or pet who has left her or his body, someone I have known, loved and lost. I clean my memory stones by removing them, immersing them in salt water, and charging them in the sun.
I hold each stone to my heart and give thanks for the gifts that each of these individuals brought to my life. Then I sing to each of them using the chorus from Gregory Norbet’s hymn, All I Ask of You. Norbet who was a Benedictine monk at Weston Priory in Vermont. This is a beautiful chant that I love to sing several times until I feel myself remembering each one of my loved ones.
“All I ask of you is forever to remember me, as loving you. All I ask of you is forever to remember me, as loving you. All I ask of you is forever to remember me, as loving you. All I ask of you is forever to remember me, as loving you. All I ask of you …”

If you choose to remember your loved ones who have transitioned by using this chant, you will experience heart-fullness.
